Family & Consumer Sciences Branding Initiative
As a leading organization in the field of family and consumer sciences, the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) recognized the need to increase the understanding and appreciation of the field among media, legislators, and the general public. In the fall of 2010, AAFCS invited Family & Consumer Sciences Alliance organizations to be a part of the Family & Consumer Sciences Branding Initiative, where they would develop messages to clearly communicate the value of the family and consumer sciences field, as well as an icon that would convey the essence of the field. Family & Consumer Sciences Alliance
The American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) created the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Alliance in 2006 in response to recommendations from the AAFCS Future Search Summit.. AAFCS leaders invited FCS organizations that addressed the integrative nature of family and consumer sciences to join the Alliance. The FCS Alliance is comprised of the following organizations:
